2016 was a great year, and 2017 will be even better. In 2016, I started my life coaching practice, and it's been great building the business. I am very active on Twitter and Facebook. I love connecting with people. The greatest thing I love about doing life coaching is helping people. I realize I am on this planet to help and support people. As many of my readers know, I love doing affirmations. Affirmations have helped me in my own life, and, below I talk about this and how doing affirmations can help you have a great 2017. Here is an affirmation for a great 2017, “YES, 2017 will be a wonderful year.” I love affirmations, they totally work, and I have used them in my own life to help change my life for the better. On average, it takes 21 days to change our thinking. So, if we say an affirmation today, please don't give up, because it will happen; it just takes time. When people say affirmations don't work, most of the time, it's because they have not given the affirmation long enough to work, or they have not said the affirmation enough. Affirmations must be said all the time. It's changing something in your life, and if you think a negative thought long enough, you will attract that into your life. When you change your thinking to be more positive, it takes time to make the change. It will happen; it just might take a while. Positive thinking will cause positive results. For example, when I started working with my life coach, I was feeling sad and depressed at times. I would say things like, “I feel depressed.” Now, I would say this sometimes every day. It was the affirmation I was sending out to the universe. So, the universe put me in situations and made me feel sad or depressed. Affirmations work with the law of attraction. The law of attraction means like attracts like. Meaning, whatever you think about you will get it. This is why, when I was saying, “I feel depressed”, I never could stop feeling depressed because of the law of attraction. I kept saying, “I feel depressed” so that's what the universe sent me. At that point in my life, I did not know if, I just changed my thinking, I could change my life. If I had known this, I could have saved myself a lot of time of feeling depressed. When I changed my thoughts to be more positive, I would say, “YES, I am happy” or “YES, my body is perfect in every way.” These were the new affirmations I was sending out to the universe. So, the universe would put me in situations that made me happy. I was feeling a lot better in life. Please remember this was not overnight; it took me months to change. You might ask why it took so long. It took a long time, because I was being so negative for so long that it took a few months to change the direction I was heading. Nothing happens overnight. I know we would like instant results, but sometimes, change can be hard and not instant. The reason I am telling you this story about me is because I did not give up doing the positive affirmations. Even after a few months, I did not give up. I kept saying, “YES, I am happy” and “YES, my body is perfect in every way.” I would envision my body as in perfect health, and it really helped me more than anything else I have ever tried. To think I changed my life with a thought. I never thought it was possible, but it is, and now, I tell as many people as I can. Thoughts can change your life. I'm living proof of it, and I realize everything we think and say should be positive. As I think about the New Year, I realize how many people sometimes don't like the holidays, because they suffer from feeling sad or depressed. Many people get sad at the holidays, because they don't have family or they cannot see family. I hope, with me sharing my story of how I overcame years and years of feeling low, it helps a few people. I want to help as many people as I can, because I know affirmations work, and they are powerful. In 2017, I want everyone to make a commitment. If you are saying negative affirmations or thinking in a negative way, let's all try to change our negative thinking to positive thinking. Negative thinking will give you negative results; positive thinking will give you positive results. I'm making this commitment as well. Some days, I think negatively and I feel sad or depressed. Now, I realize what's wrong, and I change my thoughts to be more positive. We can all be more positive, including me. When thinking in a negatively, just say, “I no longer need that thought” or just say, “Stop, I don't need that thought anymore.” This way, you are telling the universe you are tired of those thoughts, and you no longer want them. Another great way to change our negative thinking is if we change it to a positive affirmation. For example, if I said, “I feel depressed”, I would change that to a positive affirmation. I would say, “YES, I feel great today.” Can you see the difference? One is a negative way of thinking, and one is positive. Basically, anything can be changed from a negative affirmation to a positive affirmation. We all deserve to be happy, and doing positive affirmation is a great way for us to feel great.
